At Collegium Musicum we are passionate about making music and are always happy to welcome new members.

CDs and web links are provided for each voice so that members can practise at home and in the car.

    THE CHOIR & ORCHESTRA

“Collegium Musicum” is characterised by the fact that young and old perform together, that ability varies from enthusiastic amateur to polished professional, and that we are truly inclusive.

We are a flourishing international society that reflects the cosmopolitan nature of the Costa del Sol with over 100 singers and instrumentalists from some 20 nationalities. In our concerts we perform a variety of choral music from the last 400 years, usually accompanied by instruments and orchestral music ranging from the Renaissance through the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods (e.g. Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn etc.) up to works by contemporary composers such as Karl Jenkins and John Rutter.

Collegium Musicum is a non-profit-making society; members pay a yearly fee, but we are very dependent on sponsorship from our Friends and Patrons whose generosity means that we can continue to offer concerts of high standard.

We are united by our love of music but we are not affiliated to any religion, state or ideology.

    a unique SOCIETY

Our society is unique: here on the coast of southern Spain it is the only musical society that gives amateur singers and instrumentalists the opportunity to make music together with professional musicians. We offer everyone the opportunity to take part in music-making.

Rehearsals take place in Los Boliches, Fuengirola every Tuesday evening from September to May and our popular concerts are held twice yearly, in May and at Christmas time.

One performance is always given in Marbella and the other somewhere in the area between Benalmádena and Sotogrande. We also perform at weddings and funerals and sometimes in the spring we like to present a completely different programme of less serious music in different venues.

Our season finishes in June with our Annual General Meeting.

    Rehearsals

Our successful concerts are the result of a lot of intensive work and strict attendance in our weekly practices although this can be rather fluid as we understand that many members are inclined to spend periods of time in their native countries.

Our season runs from September till June with concerts in December and in May that are held in various municipalties including Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Marbella, and Sotogrande.
